This co-production with the Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke, was the country's first-ever Shakespeare production with a predominantly Anglo-Chinese cast. Set in 1920's Shanghai, a city rife with corruption, glamour, wealth and opportunity, this production also toured to Jersey Opera House from the 30th October to the 3rd November.

The cast of 11 included Mu-Lan stalwarts Daniel York, Paul Chan, Li-Leng Au and award-nomiated actress Pik-Sen Lim as well as Lobo Chan, Bronwyn Mei-Lym and Khan Bonfils as well as Simon Greiff, Hugh Hayes and Matthew Dennison. The production was directed by Alasdair Ramsey, artisitic director of the Haymarket and Paul Courtenay Hyu.
